Rasmussen had Bush down in early 2004.

Missouri will vote for Talent in a Mid-Term Election.

Missouri is a red state that becomes more GOP friendly in mid-terms.

Only spineless guppies with selective amnesia would worry about Talent losing.

Poll: Talent Pulls Ahead of Carnahan

Monday, October 14, 2002

ST. LOUIS, Mo. — Democratic Sen. Jean Carnahan trails former Republican Rep. Jim Talent in a new poll that reverses previous findings in Missouri's closely watched Senate race.

The Zogby International poll of 800 likely voters, conducted Wednesday through Friday for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch, shows Talent leading Carnahan, 47 percent to 41 percent.

A Zogby poll last month showed 48 percent supported Carnahan and 40 percent in favor of Talent.

Knowing the people of Missouri the way I do, they will not elect a Democrat. Talent will win by 5 percentage points.

By your handle I presume you are not from Missouri. I am. It is naive in the extreme to think that Jim Talent will have a cake walk over this. Missourians narrowly rejected this challenger because they were sick and tired of the incompetent Democrat governor (Holden) she had defeated in the primary. They just didn't want another Democrat. But, there is a fair amount of buyer's remorse right now over the Republican (Blunt) that beat her. This is tense.
