Thanks for the ping on the coming Mahdi and the "signs of Qiyamah". Fascinating stuff....if a bit scary.

Are there any signs that there is a resistance to Ahmadinghyjad (whatever) within groups in Iran; ie: students or the military, or has he the whole country following his messianic craziness.

There is definitely resistance. There are a lot of reports of pro-Western -- even Bush-loving -- Iranians amongst the common people, especially the young. Here's one. I'm sure DoctorZIn could find some more for you.

It pretty much is an easy rule of thumb that any sincere pro-Western Muslim de facto cannot believe the "Signs of Qiyamah" are unfolding and that the West is Dajjalic.

BTW, in his book, Prof. Cook explains that there are a lot of serious Muslim scholars who are actively trying to defuse the End-Time mania in the popular press & pulpits. Cook opines, though, that they do not seem to be succeeding.
