Debate is in full swing at the University of Notre Dame, where the new president has imposed limits on a gay parade and a sexual-themed play. University President the Rev. John Jenkins will allow performances of "The Vagina Monologues" only in a lecture hall and renamed the Queer Film Festival, saying both raise concerns at the Roman Catholic university.

Compared to the previous administration, this is a big step forward.
Notre Dame owes no one any apologies if it does the right thing and flushes these disgraceful spectacles down the toilet where they belong.
Why does this even require nuance? Just cancel these freakshows, Rev. Jenkins, and if you lose a few faculty members, then screw 'em! I'm sick and tired of men and women of the cloth who refuse to take up the cross. There's no moral justification for anything that celebrates the intrinsically evil.

Does this doofus think that there is no place for censorship by a Catholic University? How about Nazi movies? How about bestiality or snuff porno? Spare me.
A.A., that's a ridiculous statement. Jenkins is a wonderful breath of fresh air. ND is moving back to its Catholic roots under Jenkins and away from Molloy's "Aspiration Pear" approach -- which was any way of saying secularization.
Notre Dame did not promote such garbage in the past. When Joe Montana played for them, the drama was serious and there were no queer days.
Some theology faculty had real problems. The provost, a Holy Cross father, got into trouble going after male students. Two theology professors were atheists and homosexuals. One of the two either shot himself (unlikely) or was murdered by his leather/cycle buddies. You might say some nasty things were found at the priest/theologian's home. He taught worship, of course. Two masses were said in his honor, although a bomb threat broke things up during one of the masses.
