But you see, Dem bloggers and posters on Wash Post forums are making sure that the world knows that Reid didn't get a dime from Abramoff. Instead, Reid took the moral high ground and only took tribal gaming donations at the direction of Abramoff. This important moral distinction allows Reid to criticize pubbies for getting checks signed by Abramoff without having to return all the money he got from Abramoff clients.

Well, it's more than that. It's a legal distinction.

Look, if the American people were serious about ending the whoring of our political process, we'd put an end to it by compelling Congress to do so. But we don't. Why? Do we have the power or not?

When the eventual scandal breaks, the media and the lobbying groups play us for fools by encouraging exactly this kind of "he did it too game." In the meantime, all citizens are getting screwed over and over and over again.

This is one issue where Republican and Democrat citizens should join together and demand change.
