NEW YORK Kanye West, with a crown of thorns atop his head, poses as Jesus Christ on the cover of the upcoming issue of Rolling Stone.
The outspoken rapper defends his brash attitude inside the magazine's pages, on newsstands Friday. He is also pictured posing as Muhammad Ali.

"If I was more complacent and I let things slide, my life would be easier, but you all wouldn't be as entertained," he says. "My misery is your pleasure."

"The worst and most painful thing to do to this idiot is ignore him."
The second-worst - the WORST thing would be to laugh at him.

I wouldn't be opposed to going to stores which sell this ragazine, grabbing them all, and ripping them up. In fact, maybe on my next trip to town I'll consider that.
Or at the very least, talking to the owner/manager and telling them what I think about their choice to sell this crap.
w adn MC - FYI, if you like. I mean, of course you won't LIKE it, but you might want it for the list.

if you're a fan anyway, he's very talented
In my view, one of the biggestr problems with alot of rap and hip-hop is it's unoriginality. The lyrics are often juvenile rhymes and the music mostly reworked samples of other people's songs. So if being a glorified DJ is talent, well then I suppose you are right.

It seems that conservative christians try to follow Jesus while liberal christians claim to be Jesus.

Mr. West is
really trying to increase the schism between the
red and
blue states, that's to be sure.
Excerpt from Kayne's Jesus Walks:
(Jesus Walks)
God show me the way now the devil can't break me down
(Jesus Walks)
The only thing that I pray is that my feet don't fail me now
(Jesus Walks)
Everybody out there just lift your hands
right now and say this with me:
"Father I thank you, for forgiving me, for everything I ever done,
for Jesus walking with me, for dying for me, raising for me,
and all my sins have been forgiven, I'm a changed man,
I'm healed I'm delivered,I'm rich and It's all because of him"
Now Walk with me, Walk with me, Walk Walk Walk with me Walk with me

West reminds me of Madonna. She tried for years to get people to listen to her, and when they did she had nothing to say.

I can't say I disagree with you, but sampling seems to be apart of the "rules" of Rap. I'm no aficionado, but I pay attention, and he is pretty good, considering the bulk of crap that gets air time.
But you're right in saying that alot of "original" rap seems to be,almost illegally, ripped off...and especially about the juvenile rhymes. A few months ago I heard someone say that Eminem is the greatest lyricist ever. I asked this person if he'd ever heard Bob Dylan. He said yes. He could name one song. NO albums. Now you might not even like Bob Dylan, but c'mon...
Who's the Jimi Hendrix of rap? Who's the Bob Dylan of rap? Maybe they're not getting air time. Maybe they are.
