Sorry to hear that. I believe the parents never get over that also. Barbara had said she became gray overnight when little Robin died.
Did you ever see the interview........I think it was Larry King.........when GHW and Barbara were reading from his book of letters about Robin. HE couldn't read it yet because it made him cry, but Barbara was able to.
Robin's death crushed them both.........and little Georgie too. I really think a lot of his personal compassion stems from his response to that tragedy.
