Republicans have found the maverick senator indispensable...

I predict the maverick will not be the GOP nominee for 2008.

Just how stupid does the GOP think I am? I cut off all funding (but for my local elections) to them years ago.

I wouldn't vote for McCain if someone was holding a gun to my head. I guess, in a way, I'd take a bullet for McCain, LOL!

Personally I'm not scared of the Hildebeast. The fact that she can get re-elected as the senator from New York means squat in the rest of the country. After her plantation comment and a few more gaffes and opportunistic fli-flops she will become a historical footnote. The Dims will want to nominate somebody whom they think will actually be able to win; not today's current rock star. As for McCain, he will face the same problem in the southern primaries that he did in 2000. George Allen will be the man to go against whomever the Dims pick to lose in '08.

Just wondering if some Democrats crossed over just to make McCain more popular. I can't see him win - he is too creepy, has too much baggage, and many Republicans might just stay at home if he runs.

If it is McCain v Clinton, it will be the smallest turnout in recent history.

I'm voting for the most conservative candidate for President, regardless of party, whether he is electable or not.

I wouldn't vote for him if you put a gun to my head!

Give him back to the Vietnamese.

I predict a victory for you and for every one of those of us who supports your prediction.

A McCain "presidency" [Barf] would be no less deadly dangerous for our nation and for the entire Judeo-Christian/Western/Human Civilization we vanguard than woul another Mrs Billy-Bubba Blythe Cli'ton Crime Family once-white house be-squatting and be-manuring.

He won't be in the running half way through the primaries!

That is a funny article. Was it written by McCain?

Well, Her Excellency is the only candidate that McCain would look really good against...well, her and the Communist Party candidate, that is...

All politics aside, McCain is just plain weird. He is as weird as Gore or Kerry. Weird doesn't win elections. He would not be viewed as "Presidential" - much like Dean.

The more scandal and corruption in Washington, the better it is for McCain

That's a great campaign hope - "I hope that there is more and more scandal and corruption. That way I have a better chance of winning."

He can't run against Hillary for the Presidency. Two Democrats can't face off. One has to be a Republican.

I predict the maverick will not be the GOP nominee for 2008.

Me, too.

Incidentally, I am the political cartoonist for iowapresidentialwatch.com , which is in Iowa and run by the '527' PAC IowaPresidentialWatch. Our PAC watches and reports on the comings and goings of the 2008 presidential wannabes. Romney, Tancredo, Brownback, Huckabee have all been making the trek to Iowa to build support here. Below is Mitt Romney and his wife at an event in Ames, Iowa, pictured with Iowa Presidential Watch PAC's chairman, Roger Hughes (who just happens to also by my husband!):

It doesn't matter who each half of the superparty runs. We get cancerous government and statism either way.

Of course the Republicans could run Ron Paul, but I don't find that likely.

I predict you are correct.

McCain thinks he can win without "us" - the right wing Christian base. That alone makes his too stupid to be our condidate.

I'm still very intereted in George Allen - but we'll see how he does in his senate race in 06.

Aw, isn't it cute how the MSM lauds their buddy? Maybe they want him to be the nominee, but I think he's as dangerous as Hitlary, and I'd never vote for him.

White House race: GOP banks on McCain to beat Hillary

Geeze, I hope not because I would never vote for McCain. I do not like him at all and in fact no one I know does.
