I have heard the Liberals will still be fighting the Martin/Chretin wars for years to come because a lot of the old buggers are still on the scene and will be involved in the leadership race... but has anyone yet actually gone to jail because of the Gomery Report or have paid the Canadian tax payers the money that was took! The Liberals should have been making financial restitution and apologies to their fellow Canadians... but because they haven't done anything but cast their nets of fear and deception... that is the "scary" thing!

And the public in the urban areas still voted for the Liberals (just like urban Dems strongholds in the states) because there is too much corruption and asinine sophistication in cities. Toronto and other la..de..da towns that tried to impress with cool hip counter culture will end up being like next Sodom and Gommorra.

I think the other reason is conservatism hasn't caught on in Canada. You need to advance ideas openly and honestly and fight for them and be true to who you are. Rush had a segment Tuesday on his show with a frustrated liberal Democrat and told him that the problems with the party is its leaders have to pretend they are not liberals and their beliefs are not good enough to be accepted by Americans. I think the rage and hate the Democrats have is deep down they have an inferiority complex. If they don't like themselves, they have a hard time being accepted by others. You have to work on that and fix what's wrong with you. And Canadian conservatives have to do the same thing - but at least they learn from their mistakes instead of running around and blaming the country every time they lost an election.
