To be accurate, you'd do better to make a red-blue map of North America on the basis of Congressional District or "riding."

Elections Canada's map is here. There's a lot of Liberal Red and NDP Orange in the Canadian North and Atlantic Canada. Ontario doesn't look as bad as you think - since the Liberal Red is pretty much limited to Toronto and Northern/Western Ontario. Quebec looks very BQ teal, except around Quebec City and in Pontiac.
