The current rate of warming is projected to be 1.8 degrees Celsius this century -- more if fossil fuel burning increases.

Projected by whom? The "science" department of some leftist agenda-laden university? More scare tactics.

Projected by whom?

There have been a number of studies trying to predict the trajectory of fossil fuel use and carbon emissions over the next century. One of the main points of departure for many of these studies is how much new energy technology (or reused old technology, like nuclear power) will affect the trajectory, as well as the ongoing industrialization of China and India. For those reasons, and surely a host of others, there is no certainty in how much fossil fuel emissions will increase. In the short term, they appear destined to increase.
