NEW YORK (AP) -- Two small, struggling television networks, UPN and WB, will merge to form a new network called The CW, executives from them companies that own them said Tuesday. The announcement was made by executives from CBS Corp., which owns UPN, and Warner Bros., a unit of Time Warner Inc., which owns WB. Both UPN and WB had struggled to compete against larger rivals in the broadcast TV business, including Walt Disney Co.'s ABC, News Corp.'s Fox and CBS Corp.'s CBS.

I could never tell the difference between the two, anyway.
The result? Twice as much crap that isn't worth watching.
Interesting. There are some good shows on both netowrks...wonder what effect this will have? I would suspect that many shows will have to be cancelled.
Once Enterprise was scuttled, it all became rather homogenous, that's for sure.

The WB Network and UPN will merge in the hope of making the two smaller broadcast networks into a bigger power, according to sources familiar with the situation.
What does "CW" stand for?
One has 90% programming with black characters.. and they other has mostly teen dramas....
Enterprise and Angel.
Makes room for one more shopping channel.
Agreed, the only thing UPN had going for it was the Star Trek franchise.
That's why UPN was referred to as "You People's Network."
Agreed, combined they might be able to put together a strong line up... each has some good shows... "Everybody Hates Chris" "Veronica Mars" come to mind on UPN... whil it is its last season "Seventh Heaven" comes to mind on WB...
"What I like about you" isn't great, but isn't bad...
unfortunately there is a lot of crap shows as well on both of them.... will be interesting to see what survives.
Completely Worthless

Never watched Angel much, but it was fun the few times I caught it.
'Sniff. I miss Enterprise.
"Smallville", "Charmed", and "Supernatural" on the WB are all very good. I WISH I could see this season of "Veronica Mars", but I don't get UPN here. :( I got the DVD set of season one and am really enjoying it! Can't wait to see who REALLY killed Lily Kane! ; )
The Mrs. was big time into Buffy and Angel... Veronica Mars is her newest fetish.
