The really uncharitable part of me always kinda thought the show was a not too far off the mark parody of what is going on in the Episcopal Church these days. But I also know it was intended as a slam on Christianity in general. So I guess its good riddance.

I thought the same things. Consider the parish I just left: Raging codependant rector who has affairs and is getting divorced, Homosexual assistant rector who hooked up with someone on the internet who filed a harassment complaint when the associate tried to break it off and got the guy fired, parishioner who embezzled half a million from the diocese... Not so far off at all.

I think it was an unintentional parody of what is going on in the Episcopal Church and thought that, for that reason, it was good for the show to continue. The show was much like "Thelma and Louise," a movie somehow intended to show the glories of woymn's lib, which could actually be used by Islamofascists to demonstrate the virtue of the Prophet's teachings regarding women. After all, Thelma and Louise managed to turn a simple weekend fishing trip into a bungled crime spree followed by double suicide, not much of an advertisement for woymn's liberation.
