The birds are easy to love aren't they. They become an addiction. :) There is something so wonderful about having them in the backyard all day. :)

LOL, Yes, I think the ScrubJays are so beautiful. They are such characters. LOL

I put a Humming bird feeder out for 3 years. 3rd year a charm. I'm so glad I never gave up. I had one and then another showed up last year as regulars. They would fight over the feeder. This year I have to put out two in two different locations because they guard them. We have Ruby Throat. Incredible little birds.

I have never seen a Ruby-throat here. I have seen some with a green throat.

I estimated about a hundred hummers at one time at my daughter's many feeders during migration one year..two dozen was normal during migration. I spent a lot of time boiling water and making hummingbird food.

It was fun to watch some of them stake out a feeder and dive bomb anything that approached it... including us!

I have a strong affection for the Carolina wren, the chicadee, the cardinal as well as the titmouse.

Sweetliberty has a running thread about birds. I think in TX someone said there are 3 different types in TX. I'm not sure though. I have to look up but maybe Rufous Hummingbird?

This is not a great picture, but look very closely in the lower left part of that wreath on my front door (picture is taken from the inside looking out)

Two little wrens built their nest on the wreath, and we watched them from the time they started building the nest to taking turns sitting on the eggs, the hatching of the babies, and the babies' first flight !

Each time someone came to the door (we've always used the back door from the garage), they would fly to one of the trees close by. It was fascinating!

You need to get Jinx over here. The Arizona-Mexico border has the most hummingbird species of anywhere!

Beautiful Dita!

We have such a gorgeous National Bird Symbol. Someone had told me that Ben Franklin wanted the bird to be a Turkey. I'm glad that wasn't the case. LOL

It was, Meg - the thrill of seeing that baby bird fly away was awesome - just knowing that we watched it all take place. (Only one little one survived - two hatched, but one 'disappeared' before it could grow up.

How adorable. My manager had the same thing happen. One day her husband opened the door and the bird, a mockingbird, flew into their house. It took them quite a while to get it out! LOL!

Billie What a great place for a nest :). They make nests any where. To watch them from egg to birth is fascinating and such fun.

We had House wrens in a bird house last year and it was such a kick to see them everyday. I missed them when they left.

LOL. One more thing to be grateful for. This chickadee has got to get some shut-eye. Workday tomorrow; hopefully I can play again tomorrow night.

Good night and God bless everyone.
