Isikoff Strikes Again
January 23, 2006 - San Francisco, CA - PipeLineNews.org - Lying Mike Isikoff - of Quran flushing fame - is back again, this time writing in the January 30 issue of Newsweak about another "threat" that U.S. intelligence poses to U.S. civil liberties - "The Other Big Brother - The Pentagon has its own domestic spying program. Even its leaders say the outfit may have gone too far."
Prissy Issy writes - "The demonstration seemed harmless enough. Late on a June afternoon in 2004, a motley group of about 10 peace activists showed up outside the Houston headquarters of Halliburton, the giant military contractor once headed by Vice President Dick Cheney. They were there to protest the corporation's supposed "war profiteering." The demonstrators wore papier-mache masks and handed out free peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches to Halliburton employees as they left work. The idea, according to organizer Scott Parkin..."
What's gotten Isikoff's panties in a bunch is that information about this demonstration might have been gathered, from public sources, by the Defense Department's Counterintelligence Field Activity (CIFA).
CIFA is a three year old agency charged with keeping track of potential terrorist threats.
What Isikoff doesn't tell his readers however is that Scott Parkin [pictured right speaking in Australia & surrounded by members of the Stop The War Coalition and the Socialist Alliance] is a communist activist who was recently deported from Australia because he was deemed a threat to their national security. While in Australia Parkin was working with the Stop War Coalition, a Stalinist organization which is affiliated with International Answer and the Socialist Worker's Party.
Isikoff's "peace activist" is a Texas junior college history professor - who formed the Houston Global Awareness Collective with the below stated goals, he has been instrumental in bringing other far lefties like the cunning linguist Noam Chomsky to his college campus. His site has links to the communist "War Resisters League" [the CPUSA site directly links to the War Resisters League] and other radical groups including the eco-terrorist group Earth First.
Parkin's Houston Global Collective Goals:
1. Halliburton out of Iraq. Halliburtons operations are essential to the continuing US presence in Iraq and forcing their withdrawal would shut down parts and motives of the U.S. occupation. Begin an aggressive, relentless and innovative campaign will create an economic, political and social climate that will ultimately force Halliburton from Iraq.
2.End the US wars for empire, end the US occupation of Iraq and Afghanistan. Prevent future US attacks on other countries.
3. De-Centralized community-based mobilization. We work to create open, welcoming, inspiring spaces where the voices of the social and economic justice majority can be heard through real, direct democracy. We will help catalyze racially just, non-patriarchal, mass movements to challenge corporate and government power and create socially just, directly democratic, ecological, equitable, and peaceful alternatives.
4. Normalize the use of Direct Action and Popular Education as tools and tactics for social change. We will act in accordance with the rich traditions of social movements before us, which have succeeded using nonviolent resistance to challenge injustice. Furthermore, we will work to use a horizontal form of educating one another and creating a progressive community.
It seems only proper to keep an eye on the activities of commie "activists" like Scott Parkin, especially when we are merely talking about publicly sourced documents.
As Powerline makes clear, Isikoff's main source for the piece is William Arkin who is only described as a former intelligence officer.
Actually Arkin, like Parkin is a Bush hater and far-left activist.
It's no secret why the old-media is in such a crisis mode, the rightie Internet army will no longer let them get away with the lies they have slipped by the public in the past.
It's time for Newsweak to fire Isikoff; he should have gone away a long time ago.

Not sure what this has to do with the article I posted but I am sure Mr. Horowitz' book is a good read, thank you.
Thanks for providing the direct link to Powerline's piece.
Newsweek Al-Jazeera is at it again. It does not surprise me to see Lying Izzy try another round to assail America and its values.
watta maroon...
Plus them boobs be a rhymin!!! (Snark!)
I guess the people who run Newsweek don't understand how this makes them look to anyone with a brain and a browser.
Have to go back to Judith Miller, after that event the leftist media just quit pretending.
Yeah, a maroon for sure.
Busta lefty rhyme.
mark for later
The left knows that they can only win if our nation is reduced to rubble... under a Republican administration. They have been working toward this goal since November 3, 2000.
Yes the RATs/Mapes/Rather caper, fake but true, same standard here, but Isikoff is better at constructing a facade that he can hide behind.
How can this guy sleep at night knowing that he is a laughing stock?
I have run into some revolutionary types on the internet that make me very glad to know that peace activists are watched. I assumed as much, though.
Its always the samee with these lefty writers.
If it's a conservative then that is played up, but if its a friggin commie professor, he becomes a devoted to humanity type.
This never fails to astound me.
O
The last time lil' mikey was even half way balanced was before Drudge scooped him on his own bj story, about 8 years ago. Since then, the curly, messed hair boi, has gone straight{?} left. He loves to get on chrissy girl's "smushball" and and give and get verbal lewinskis.
And those that are listening ain't very happy.
