McCain has NO CHANCE of being nominated by the GOP.

You are sadly mistaken. McCain has four things going for him: he is perhaps the only sure winner against Clinton; the open primaries in Michigan and New Hampshire greatly strengthen his candidacy; he has an outstanding pro-life record with much of the base; and the news media loves him (at least until he is nominated),

If the GOP apparatus believes that McCain is the only way to prevent a Clinton presidency, he will be nominated in a New York minute, with support from President Bush.

Seriously, whom would you prefer executing the war on terror and appointing federal judges? Clinton or McCain?

I would hold my nose and vote for McCain if that is what it takes to prevent a Clinton presidency.

Well, I guarentee I will not vote for McCain.

Your pluses for McCain are negatives. Al Quida Bill of Rights. NSA hearings. Constant undermining of Rumsfeld. betrayal of the fourteen judge pact which is of immense interest to pro-lifers. Embryonic stem cell funding. Flirting to be Kerry's VP

NO.

MSM loved him in 2000, N.H. northeasterners voted for him, he lost. That alone isn't an asset, because conservatives control most primaries and the selection process.

The GOP establishment will do as it pleases, but the base doesn't follow like sheep when they say jump. Witness '92 and Miers.

I will conclude with one thought. The Dems chose Kerry because they thought he could win on an anti-Bush momentum. They lost. Choosing a candidate to ride an anti-Hillary train to victory is a losing strategy, if, infact, she's even nominated. You have to give people a reason to vote for you. McCain is despised by this base.

Good for you. Plenty of us would not vote for either one which means a win for Hillary. Hillary = EVIL; McCain = EVIL and CRAZY.

Neither, McCain is the male clone to Clinton.

I don't believe McCain would appoint conservative judges. Because of that, I don't care about McCain's pro life voting record as it will have little meaning UNLESS he appoints great judges and signs pro-life legislation. Also, I don't believe that Hillary is a great threat. I would love to see her get the nomination so I can watch her lose. We have many great candidates and remember Bush ran, atleast, as a unapologetic conservative and this is why he was elected. McCain is no conservative . If he does get the nomination, which i say NO WAY, the grassroot people will not be fired up to support him. Hilliary should pray that McCain gets the nomination as most people will not see any difference between them.
McCain nips at Bush's policy on the war every chance he gets. I believe just week-end he said that he believed Bush's policy on wiretaps was illegal and suggested that Bush come to Congress to get permission. He's a joke and Rush will enjoy slapping the guy around. There is alot of fatal mistakes he's made in terms of conservatives. Trust me, conservatives who have worked hard to get true conservatives elected will rally around his defeat for nomination.

McCain is actually better than Bush in one respect: His hatred of pork-barrel spending. McCain would fiscally be an improvement over W.

We can do MUCH better, though!
