WASHINGTON, Jan. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- Democratic National Committee Chairman Howard Dean issued the following statement recognizing the 33rd Anniversary of the landmark Roe vs. Wade decision:
"The landmark Roe v. Wade decision served to ensure the personal freedoms and rights of women all over the country to make decisions about their own health care and reproductive rights.
"As a physician and former Planned Parenthood board member, I understand that the decision to have an abortion is one of the most difficult a woman can make. We can all agree that abortion should be rare, but it should also be safe and legal. This difficult personal health care decision should be made by a woman, in consultation with her physician, and not by politicians in Washington.
"Democratic leaders are working hard to improve women's access to health care, and increase economic opportunities which will help to decrease the number of unintended pregnancies. And Democrats will remain steadfast in protecting the individual rights and freedoms of not only women but all Americans."
Dr. Dean, "Just because 75% of abortions are performed on women of color doesn't mean I'm a racist!"
What's the body count up to now? 20 million? Doesn't sound rare to me.
That arguement is full of scrap.
This is the worst ruling ever by the Supreme Court. I can even take the other nutty rulings. I cannot see how anyone could make a decision to have an abortion. The only way it could possibly be a difficult decision is if the person is very selfish. IMHO.
Must've seen it in a mirror.
