Specifically, all of CAFTA, but the fact that it harms our sovreignty, subverts our Constitution, harms our national economy, our citizen's jobs, and a whole lot more as you will find as it unfolds in time.

Sorry, I can't wait to see it unfold. I would like to know now. Every trade agreement we have entered into has been badmouthed. Some feel that trade and international relations/defense have nothing to do with each other. Some feel that we can stand on our own economy and can simply set out our requirements for the rest of the world. Nothing could be further from the truth. Yes, the world economy affects American jobs. Been happening long before CAFTA. Chinese imports dwarf anything CAFTA could ever do. We conservatives talk about capitalism as if it were the private domain of the US. We have been exporting capitalism for a long time. Now much of the rest of the world is ready to play the same game we do.

Specifically, how does CAFTA subvert the Constitution and endanger our sovereignty?

Some feel that trade and international relations/defense have nothing to do with each other.I don't know who those people are.

The REAL problem with our so-called "trade" agreements is that they are primarily NOT,/b> about trade, they just use that term to confuse everyone.

To (nearly) quote Henry Kissinger: "..(NAFTA) is not about trade but represents the architecture of a New World Order"

You people who still think it is about "trade" are simply making it easy for them to get those agreements rammed through.

I spent well over a year posting on FR about CAFTA before it was passed, and I was not alone in doing so. We said many times what the real dangers were, and all we got was flamed.

As to our sovreignty, how could it not have an affect, given we have already seen the effects of NAFTA and the WTO in dictating to our congress and the President the resolution of trade issues with our "partners".

CAFTA also effectively destroys our borders in the provision that grants "rights" to Central American residents who wish to travel north for jobs.

And of course, CAFTA is the opening salvo in the push for the FTAA, coming to a hemisphere near you real soon.
