If I had a dollar for everyone that that said they weren't voting for Bush during elections because he was to moderate, to left, or just not conservative enough I would had quite a few dollars. You analogy would have come in handy during election time. Also I love the way the flamers get that cute vicious gleam in their text when they have a new target to pounce on. It makes one proud of the Christian charity here.

Good post, sums up my feelings and attitude toward the GOP nowadays quite nicely.
For the rest of you who are slamming him for his post, go ahead and drink your koolaid.

It appears there is a large group of Republicans who are not the least bit conservative, just Republicans.
Note this guy is not supporting the Dems, just wanting the Republicans to do at least a little of what they are supposed to stand for.
The Republicans are going to do what needs to be done, to win elections, that what this comes down to. If that means moving away from a Conservative base as they have been doing, in order to gain more ground in the middle, that's what they will do.
I'm not defending them, I don't like it one bit, but very few have the guts to risk defeat by taking a Conservative stance these days.

"It seems the unappeasables are out in force this morning."The "unappeasables"? Is that what you call folks like us who are tired of trying? ?Tired of trusting in the Republicans, only to get kicked in the teeth after the election?
:How about some "trying to appease" us, for a change! How about the Republican nominating a conservative once in a while? How about the Republicans standing up to the unconstitutional actions of our elected representatives and making an issue of it once in a while?
This next election cycle will seee an exodus of conservatives out of the Republican Party the likes of which haven't been seen since dissillusioned Whigs left in droves to form the Republican Party.
And it's too late to stop them (us).
I'll see some (or many) of you at the Constitution Party this year.

Sad to see the naive on this thread don't understand that the Republican party is a big tent party. You can try for a "true" conservative, but you'll never get one. Ever. Too many special interests and single issue people out there.
So go jump to another party and say hello President Hillary. If your little Constitution party ever gets over 14% of the votes in my lifetime, I'll eat my computer.

But there's more to it than special interests and single-issue voters. There is also the cabal of powerful insiders who have been calling the shots for a very long time.
Simply electing the next Republican and hoping for a few crumbs to fall our way is not the answer.

Voting third party won't get you anywhere either. It's a protest vote, and you know that allowing a democrat to sit in office is going to solve the problems you listed.

gotta stop responding to that GOP long cabin type RB. He/she/it/ is no more than a Liberal/sicko trying to destroy the principles of GOP or morph it more to the left..
I wonder what RDB3's wife thinks about him being a "log cabin type".
Just another dipshit on this thread I see.....

Withholding your vote from a Republican is the same as giving a vote to a Democrat. Is that what you really want to do?

well, hippie, why don't you just go ahead and vote for the Democrats?
I am SO sure the RNC will miss your $25.
Until there is a viable 3rd party (and there won't be as virtually every 3rd party out there is on the fringe of the big 2, at least not anytime soon), you have your choices.
You have made yours. I hope you love a President Hillary, because, in effect, you WILL be voting for her either directly or indirectly.
