Nice to know that at least Rush Limbaugh's on our side, eh?

I wonder how he got it?  I posted this as a thread back in November of 2002.  And yes, I sure am happy that he is on our side.

Ruble was an outspoken supporter of Toledo's initial ban, and he said going smoke-free has brought more customers into his restaurant. He said grandparents are more likely to bring their grandchildren now that there is no longer a smoking section, even though his previous smoking section was seven feet away from the non-smoking section.

Children aren't allowed in the blood-on-the-floors gin mills I prefer, Mr. Ruble. If you want to keep your homecooking, child friendly place smoke free, no one is stopping you, but using the force of law to treat adults like children is pure hypocrisy.

Forty years of "lifestyle advocacy" and virtuecrats posing as public health officials has brought us to this low.

And never forget that if you don't value health above all else you're "immoral".

I can't believe he said that.  Smoking or non smoking, I sure don't want to see the kiddies in a bar!  They already have MacDonalds.  Let them stay there!

These public health officials have made it clear they do not support public health. If they did so they would be speaking out against homosexual (and for that matter heterosexual) promiscuous practices and would insist that laws be passed to limit their impact on the general public.

That profession has become "politically correct" because of the influence of big Federal dollars.

I was drawn to the article b3cause..Toledo, is my Home
town...although, have lived in California..over 50 years.
The smoking ban here (Cal..and San Diego) is all encompassing and is/was received with same resistance
that is evident anyplace, including Toledo, when it is
introduced. All I can say is: It is healthy to ban this
slow killer....we even ban it in the football stadium..where
the Chargers play...smoking is allowed...but only away from the crowd...restricted areas...so ..I say...Get with
it..Toldeo. Jake

You say "Get With It."  How about you get with wanting to protect the freedom of choice?  Someday YOU will be in the line of fire!

"Smokers Rights neither promotes smoking nor denies the health risks of smoking. Instead, we defend the interests of adults who choose to smoke; we promote freedom of choice for employers and proprietors who wish to accommodate smokers on their premises; and we speak out against those who want to discriminate against smokers or ban smoking completely. Last but not least, we promote greater courtesy and tolerance between smokers and non-smokers. "
