Yup, the old blue and white Rams. (My first game was in '70, Allen's final year coaching). They were 41 - 11 - 4 from '67 to '70 and beat the best of the best during the regular season, but Dallas and Minnesota always kicked their asses come playoff time. ....and the "ground Chuck (Knox)" Rams of the mid-70s had equal regular season success, and equal playoff ineptitude.

The Steelers look unstoppable, but I think Seattle would give 'em a good game. ....and if the 'Hawks can magage to keep the ball away from that little All-Pro receiver they'll be there...

Wow -- you were a youngon' to remember that particular game team.

You're right -- that '67-'70 team was awesome, but the Joe Kapp Vikes would beat 'em in the tundra of Minny, and Dallas had their own awesome team with Bob Lilly and Bob Hayes.

Deacon Jones perfected that 'head-slap,' and on offense that had the biggest, nastiest OT in Bob Brown who wound up at Oakland. Roman Gabriel -- NOT a Big game QB.

The Pack's last Lombardi team was '67 -- a team that won SB II (and I.)

Bad call by Holmgren, especially with wind swirling as it is.

Stats (so far):

First downs: Seattle 14, Carolina 2
Rushing yards: Seattle 100, Carolina 6
Passing yards: Seattle 152, Carolina 45

A thorough annihilation on the stat sheet, but far from over on the scorecard.
