I suppose if I were a Texan, that would aggrivate me, but that is an appropriate positioning of the flag. Sadly, if it were the Mexican flag or the Iranian flag, they would appear at the same height, according to protocol.

I can't think of any reason why he should be cowered by the illegal actions of misguided patriots. Why let them win?
Should we surrender to minor acts of terrorism? I'm afraid to ask what your suggestion might be for major acts of terrorism.

So you think he's right in principle, but that he should nonetheless cave in to punks threatening his family ?

The Retreat ceremony [lowering of the colors at the end of the day] was a major function in those days. As the colors were lowered and all were saluting, I often wondered if the CG from a Confederate State was not exacting a payback by having the Texas flag saluted. :-)

But it appears some people take offense to the Canadian Forces major flying his nations red and white Maple Leaf flag in front of his Sierra Vista home. This time of year there are Canadian flags all over Arizona as the "Snow Birds" are avoiding the cold weather at home.
I can't understand the attitude of Arizonians against a group that dumps millions into their economy.

There is no law whatsoever stating that a flag of another nation cannot be flown by itself. No person shall display the flag of the United Nations or any other national or international flag equal, above, or in a position of superior prominence or honor to, or in place of, the flag of the United States at any place within the United States or any Territory or possession thereof: From the U.S. code.

If he hadn't displayed the flag, it wouldn't have happened. Its his fault?

These are low IQ types at the best. Like California Arizona's problems lie to the South, not Canada. Canadians are wonderful folk as a rule.
To: armydawg1
Ditto on that. His stupid government pokes sticks in the eye of US day after day, US citizenry is now antagonized, over his home he flies the flag of the antagonizer, guess what?

It probably has more to do with all the nasty things the Canadians have said about the US, but people should be smart enough to realize that the military men and women of Canada are our friends.
Somebody needs to grow up.

Like I said those doing this to him and his family are the low IQ types that infest every town. There even are a few that show up here now and again but, thank God they don't last long before being banished to "those other sites."

Although I did meet the previous Candian Liason officer to the Army organization I work for, I didn't know him very well. I do know he shot on a team with two of the contractors from my company, and they took the commanders coin. After that they didn't let the contractors compete. :) I'm told he was a very good pistol shot.
I have met the current CLO a couple of times. The last time was last week. He was leaving and I was entering. He commented about how nice the weather was. (Was being the operative word... Oh well at least it's raining today).
I don't recommend any yahoos try this sort of cr@p here in central Texas. His American buddies might not take kindly to it, and since they are Texians, at least temporarily, you never know just what they might do about it.
