If you believe in neither God nor miracles, why do you keep arguing with those who do? Do you suppose you will be able to change their minds? Or is it more about your feeling of superiority? Either way, you do science no favor by having such a closed mind.

Some, maybe, and lurkers too. In the 18th century the first geologists went looking for the evidence of the Flood. They were astonished to not find it in the rocks. So they changed their minds, since they didn't find it acceptable to think that God had hidden the physical evidence of His actions. In the intervening centuries most Christians the world over have accepted what the geologists found; that no global flood as described in Genesis, has occurred. I happen to think that Christianity is a good thing for society, despite my personal lack of belief, so when certain sects/forms of Christianity embrace ignorance that upsets me. Ignorance is good for no-one.

Or is it more about your feeling of superiority? Either way, you do science no favor by having such a closed mind.

What data or evidence, exactly, do you think my mind is closed to?
