You're not alone. I, too, am surprised at the number here on FR whose conservative values are superficial. There are many who have espoused the notion that government should interfere when it supports their purposes.

It was government interference that killed Terri Schiavo. A government employee ordered her death. The same government employee prevented her family from taking part in decisions concerning her care. The same government employee illegally ordered that no one could try to give her food or water by hand. The same government employee posted armed guards around the building to make sure no private person could interfere with a government execution. The same government employee had a small boy arrested for carrying a glass of water to a woman dying of thirst.

Is that the government interference you were objecting to?
