No problem, then. The motorcycle riders' associations can set up insurance pools that will offer single-risk policies, and the premiums will be low because riding a motorcycle is safer than working in a mine.
They already exist and the premiums are cheap. I happen to think that this insurer is pretty stooooopid, but then it's their right. As mentioned by others on this thread, it would be far better if people were able to seek their own coverage instead of having to rely on employers (in your country) or the government (in mine).
I think that is quite reasonable. I ride a motorcycle, but I am covered under my policy--I checked.
Of course, it's not like they won't treat you if you are injured. They just refuse your claim and you are holding a big bill most people will default on....
It really just shifts the bill to the hospital, taxpayers and other plan members when they are forced by law to treat your crashed ass at the emergency room....
Oddly, Illinois cops will pull you over and ticket you (no warning) for not wearing your seat belt..buut they do not require a helmet on a motorcycle.
