I'm leaning toward that being of Portuguese origin. Possibly even Spanish.

 

That surname has something of a concentrated presence in the north-east United States, and a cursory internet search reveals an interesting thing that people with that last name sure seem to be tangled up with democrat/leftist/socialist stuff.

 

Maybe "yorra" translated means "leftist agitator".
