BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Muslim leaders are concerned about their community's safety after someone saw a man rappelling from the roof of a city mosque.
A witness in the Islamic Center of Bloomington to pray Saturday heard footsteps on the roof and spotted the man climbing down the building's roof around 6 a.m.
After the man shimmied down the side of the building, he got into a Jeep with two other men and drove away, police said.
"Because of the sophistication and apparent specialized training of the intruder, we are again concerned about the safety of the Muslim community," said Islamic center spokeswoman Nancy Anderson.
The FBI is investigating an apparent arson at the same mosque in July as a possible hate crime.
Police found a hacksaw on the ground near the mosque but saw no footprints or marks from a grappling hook used to scale walls.
Bloomington police Detective Sgt. David Drake said there was no evidence of the man entering the building or that any property was vandalized.
Anderson said she hopes to meet with authorities to discuss upgrading security at the center.
Spidey don't need no grappling hook! The hacksaw is a puzzle, though.

Well I live in Lodi California, and I am concerned about the safety of the non-moslim community.

If they'd driven away in an Aston Martin I'd know exactly who it was... Since it was a jeep, I suspect it was probably just a local Muslim roof inspector.
