As a person who is making a trip to NY next month... I don't want to walk all the way from Newark.
LOL you can always cab it but you would have to make sure you take a meter cab. The Gypsy cabs will rip you off if there is a strike on!
The PATH is not impacted, it's run by the Port Authority, not the MTA.
Well, you won't have to walk all the way from Newark. NJ Transit and the PATH trains should take you into Manhattan.
Just because they rejected the contract doesn't necessarily mean they go back on an illegal strike. Many New York City unions have worked without a contract for years.
I took my fiance to see the Rockettes' Christmas Show on the 20th of December...first day of the strike.
It was a nightmare. We had the tickets (good ones) almost a month before, so we weren't going to throw them away.
We left from her house (she lives in Freehold, NJ) and had to take a Ferry because we were afraid of how Penn Station would be. Sharing taxis, etc. It was nuts!
