I am for sure not in favor of the same-sex-marriage, but Hitler used to throw homosexuals into the ovens of Auschwitz. It can't be said that he was in favor of fags. Therefore: Your comparison is more than unsuitable.

From what I read, sanctions and expulsion are only the dreams of this Commissioner and "some" EU parliamentarians. This isn't settled yet by a long shot - the EU isn't going to do anything silly that would make 5 or 6 eastern states leave.

Angela "Geli" Raubal (June 4, 1908 - September 18, 1931) was the daughter of Adolf Hitler's half sister, Angela Raubal.

Many historians believe that Hitler was deeply in love with her, that she was the love of his life and that after her death he was a changed man (for the worse).

She was found dead from a gunshot wound to the heart in Hitler's Munich apartment on September 18, 1931, at the age of twenty-three. The official cause of death was listed as suicide but at the time Hitler already had considerable influence with the Munich police, so it cannot be known if they were being objective. There were many rumours, including one that Hitler shot her (or had her shot) for infidelity, since she was killed by a bullet fired from his gun. By all accounts, they argued intensely in the days leading to her death.

Nobody knows what really happened. After her death, Hitler threatened to commit suicide (he had made similar threats during past moments of personal crisis or defeat, most notably after the failed Beer Hall Putsch). Hitler had early ambitions to become an artist and continued to draw sporadically after he entered politics. The many sketches of his which survived the war included some ordinary nudes and at least one of these depicted Raubal.

Even before Raubal's death, however, Hitler was also seeing nineteen-year-old Eva Braun, whom he had known for two years (and who would attempt suicide at least twice before marrying and committing suicide with him in the space of a day and a night fourteen years later). Most historians surmise that Raubal was distraught over her relationship with Hitler, could not escape it, and killed herself as a result.

Shortly after the purge in 1934, a special division of the Gestapo was instituted to compile lists of gay individuals. In 1936, Heinrich Himmler, Chief of the SS, created the "Reich Central Office for the Combating of Homosexuality and Abortion." Hitler and Himmler had initially been supporters of Röhm, arguing that the charges of homosexuality against him were manufactured by Jews. But after the purge, Hitler elevated Himmler's status and he became very active in the suppression of homosexuality. He exclaimed, "We must exterminate these people root and branch... the homosexual must be eliminated." (Plant, 1986, p. 99).

Hitler believed that homosexuality was "degenerate behavior" which posed a threat to the capacity of the state and the "masculine character" of the nation. Gay men were denounced as "enemies of the state" and charged with "corrupting" public morality and posing a threat to the German birthrate. About one million gay men were victimized by the Nazi regime. Gays were not initially treated in the same fashion as the Jews, however; Nazi Germany thought of German gay men as part of the "Master Race" and sought to force gay men into sexual and social conformity. Gay men who would not conform and switch sexual orientation were sent to concentration camps under the extermination through work campaign.

Nazi persecution of gay men was carried out primarily through harsh enforcement of anti-gay laws, under which about 100,000 were arrested. 50,000 were sentenced to prison terms, with an unknown number committed to mental hospitals. Hundreds of gay men were castrated under court order. Some persecuted under these laws would not have identified themselves as gay. Such "anti-homosexual" laws were widespread throughout the western world until the 1960s and 1970s, so many gay men did not feel safe to come forward with their stories until the 1970s when many sodomy laws were repealed.

Estimates vary wildly as to the number of gay men killed in concentration camps during the Holocaust ranging from 15,000 to 600,000. Reason for the wide variances are whether the researcher counted people who were both Jewish and gay, and reasons for arrival in death camps are non-existent in many areas.

Gay men suffered unusually cruel treatment in the concentration camps. It can be attributed to the harsh view of the SS guards toward gay men, as well as to the homophobic attitudes present in Nazi society at large. The marginalization of gay men in Germany was reflected in the camps. Many died from harsh beatings, some of them caused by other prisoners. And Nazi doctors often used gay men for scientific experiments in an attempt to locate a "gay gene" to cure any future Aryan children who were gay.

There are many suppositions about Hitler. I.e. that he was a jew, a homosexual and mentally ill in the view of a physician. This is all crap and can not be proofed. Hitler simply was a evil man. We should not add tall tales to his sad existence.

I do not want to offend Jewish and other victims of the holocaust. This has really absolutely nothing to do with the fact that Hitler murdered thousands of homosexuals.

But keep in mind that Wikipedia is not the absolute truth, and many times is infected with liberal propaganda.

Try reading the books I mentioned. I trust them a lot more than an online website where anyone can put up whatever they like.

No doubt Hitler was more than just likely homosexual, apparently he was a coprophile as well, and definitely had some kind of an obsession with his neice.

Please read "Hidden Hitler" by Lothar Machtan, who is a noted German historian and not a "gay basher" by any stretch of the imagination.

I just scanned and read a few sentences of your comments. Sounds like "gay" propaganda to me. Many SS were homosexual, many camp commandants were homosexual. No way 600,000 homosexuals were killed in camps - not even close to that number were incarcerated in camps.

BTW, Eva Braun and Hitler never lived together in the same house (until right before their deaths in the bunker) and never had sexual relations.

This is going to be a hard sell in many EU COUNTRIES not states.

Many of those EU countries are vastly one christian religion in some form. In addition many of those cultures do NOT subscribe to the "born that way" myth pushed by homosexuals.

It is a chosen behavior and they treat it as a chosen (abnormal) behavior.

FYI, the Nazi deathcamps are generally believed to have exterminated between 9 and 11 million people during Hitlers reign, roughly 6 million of whom were Jewish. The other 3-5 million included communists, political dissidents, gays, Jehovah's Witnesses, mentally and physically handicapped children, and gypsies. They were killed alongside Jews in more than 50 concentration camps around Europe, and I fail to see how the fact of their deaths somehow demeans the deaths of the Jewish victims.
