Hi RWP! So what's so "stupid" or "provocative" about Klinghoffer's article? Details, please!

Read the thread. Or this.

Whatever its merits as science, Darwinism as a philosophy is far from uplifting or ennobling.

Hi RWP! Since we are concerned with matters of truth here, do you find the above statement untruthful?

Personally I think evolution is a fact. Darwinism as science deals with this fact. But many -- apparently including yourself -- have turned it into a philosophy. Darwinism may or may not be good science, but it is certainly exacrable philosophy. And given its philosophical presuppositions, it rules out in advance a number of things that appear to be relevant to the success of species -- on the grounds that such do not reduce to the mantra "random mutation + natural selection." Thus such things as cooperative social behavior, mate selection, etc., are beyond the pale of the theory. But the point is, such things are not beyond the pale of the life of species.

BTW, I did read at the link you provided, RWP, but nowhere did I find any indication of what you found "stupid" or "provocative" in Klinghoffer's article. All I was able to learn is that you strongly disagree with him; but in your fulminations against the dude, you didn't bother to give one concrete example of why you think he's just plain wrong.
