Perhaps it is because some folks just want it to be so (that OBL is dead). With all the technology the world has today, and the fact that there are known audio recordings of OBL to use as a comparison when receiving a new audio tape, it is highly unlikely that our CIA, or any other intelligence agency in the world, cannot determine the authenticity of said person's voice.
I am quite vexed by this latest tape and I believe he is ready to hit us again.
What was it that was written in “The Art of War”, (paraphrasing) When you are week project strength, when you are strong appear week” or some such.
OBL was greatly criticized in the Islamic world after 911 for not issuing us a warring before the attack.
He knows full well that we will not take him up on his truce offer. Now he is positioned to strike with greater Islamic moral authority. If he strikes, and I believe he will, he can show how Islam is morally superior by offering terms only to be rejected by the infidels.
Several years pass between AQ attacks and I believe we are due. Our border security remains vulnerable and we have so many high value soft targets we can never protect them all. Nothing has really changed since 911.
The enemy is at the gate if he is not already inside. After the smoke clears and we recover our dead, the DNC and ACLU will pay a heavy price for their treachery.
One thing I have learned about OBL, ignore him at your peril. He means what he says.

I know you're talking about Michael Moore's movie. Moore didn't use anything that wasn't already being said by moonbats from Hollywood to the senate and plastered all over CNN. He's just the only one who strung it together and called it a "documentary"

How many ways to say it? In 2004, U.S. intelligence analyzed the tape and said that the message was authentic and had been produced recently.

It is hard to think of a way to pay Osama back for all the evil he has unleashed in his miserable life. I don't think it's possible to repay him in this lifetime. I'm sure that in the next life, it is.

It amazes me as well. Perhaps someone should poll FReepers and find out just how many there are who truly believe that OBL is dead. It'd be interesting to see the results.
About a month ago Katie Couric had a green beret on promoting his book (probably only worthwhile guest she was ever polite to), and he said the exact same words, verbatim:
"We can fight them over here, or go over there and fight them on their own turf".
It sounds as if you are almost rooting for him.
Maybe that drone in Pakistan was a little too close for comfort. Ok bin Laden, come out, come out wherever you are. Hands high in the air. Sending a tape just doesn't cut it.
