I was working at a Port of Entry on and after September 11th, as a contractor- not LE. The citizens of Mexico crossing the border for the most part had an attitude of "So What" When increased security measures were enacted that day and afterward, they acted like it was just an inconvenience to them, and the events of 9/11 were just not a big deal. Very few showed any understanding or compassion about what had happened in our country. So much for our "friendly neighbors" who needs friends like that? Mexico has for so long been focused on what the US can and should do for them- it's past time we need to do what is best for our citizens and our own country.

I don't know when we were friendly neighbors, although Presidents Fox and Bush continue to say that we are. The Mexicans have hated us ever since we bought their land. I must have missed the big love-in that patched things up.

I read somewhere that many illegals left the U.S. after 9/11 because they were afraid they might be drafted. When they realized that was not going to happen, they returned.

Yeah...some "friends."
