Sorry if I think the war on terrorism is just a bit more important than the war on wetbacks. In fact, there are many worse things to worry about here in America. So, no, I don't think people should cross the border illegally, but I am also not "outraged" about the illegal immigration issue. There is enough in a healthy economy (and more importantly, American values of Freedom and Hope for a new life) for everyone here - what we should NOT do is anything which triggers another recession though - you really think it would be worth THAT cost?
What's the matter with addressing both threats? In fact, look at our allocation of resources - the administration is far more serious about the war on terror than it is on immigration. Your inner Mexican is coming through loud and clear.
Oh yeah I forgot its one or the other fight terrorism or illegal immigration. What a silly argument. And we're not even talking about roundups and mass deportations which most open borders advocates would point to as a potential cause of a recession. Local police enforcing immigration laws would not result in mass deportations and roundups and thus would not cause a recession, or depression, or trade war, etc. Your opposition, apparently, to any and all enforcement measures, 99% of which would fall short of anything that would cause even a slight labor shortage, makes your real position crystal clear.
