CHICAGO (AP) - New York Knicks forward Antonio Davis was ejected Wednesday night after he went up into the stands at the United Center during overtime in a game against the Chicago Bulls.

There was no physical confrontation, but several people could be seen pointing and shouting for several moments before security finally arrived and Davis was ejected. During a timeout, Davis jumped over the scorers' table and ascended about ten rows of seats before the confrontation started.

A group of people in the area of the confrontation were later escorted from the area by United Center security.

I watched the film of this, and as much as I detest the NBA and the lifestyle/image they glorify and protray, I have to say that this time the PLayer entering the stands was completely Justified.

Davis saw his wife being accosted, and went to the defense of his spouse.

No I don't have an NBA list or anything, but if I were doing a sport and saw someone messing with my wife, the bastids life would be in danger, that's for sure.....

His actions certainly appear justified.

Agreed. I do however think that he will be fined by the NBA, but I hope they do not suspend him.

To me, he actually showed incredible restraint in not actually physically attacking the fan(s) that was accosting his wife.

I would respond the same way if it was my wife being accosted. If the NBA fines him, the team should pick up the tab.

During a timeout

Play already stopped, commotion in stands, player acts as peace-maker, give him a medal.

Oh snap. Everything has just changed

But Axelrod said Kendra Davis tried to scratch him after he after
protested a call. Axelrod said he never laid a hand on Davis' wife and
said he was not drunk.
Axelrod's father, David, is a prominent Democratic political consultant
in Chicago who has worked with Senators Barack Obama and Hillary
Clinton and Chicago mayor Richard M. Daley.

The "fan", being the offspring of the Devil - should be hit.

The film doesn't show enough to conclude who was at fault. The fans in the area will be able to shed light on it at the trial.

I'm betting the fan in this incident will get some judicial punishment too.

Did you hear about the fan at the Steelers game a few weeks ago that ran onto the field and got body slammed by the Steelers player? He got sentenced this week for his little stunt. He got 3 days in jail... SuperBowl weekend... no TV privileges.

Watch Axelrod get something like community service working in a food kitchen every night of the NBA playoffs.

You missed the part where the dad is a well-connected Democrat.
