I know time is limited, but if you are looking for a good first-person account of the war in Afghanistan, check out "Jawbreaker" by Gary Berntsen.
One I read was "Not a good Day to Die". Pretty descriptive and graphic accounts of the biggest set battle to date in Afganistan..a little slanted though.
