True. While the KJV may be aesthetic, it is a third rate translation. Thje goyim of England should have been smart enough to hire Jews to do the job.

It looks to me like the Rabbi is misquoting the Bible to promote the liberal world view.I noted the " " as well, but he's paraphrasing, he's not presenting that as a translation from Hebrew. Which wouldn't follow the KJV either. His interpritation isn't traditional.

It happens every time. You post something positive and uplifting from Rabbi Lapin, a true leader of Jewry, and the Jew-hating, Israel-hating fruitcakes take advantage of it and come piling out of the woodwork. I thought these people left FR after 9/11. What do you expect, Rabbi Lapin is Jewish after all.

They are trying to separate the religious Jewish people from the Zionist Christian, isolate them is some corner, so they can more easily rip at them as they are continuing to do in Israel now. Otherwise known as doing the Muslim Brotherhood's work.

And of course the Christians who hold to replacement theology sit on their hands through this whole process of vilification of Jewish and Christian literalists (In the Bible) because the main thing that is on their hearts is just getting their hands on the land that is not theirs to begin with. And there's glaring evidence of their presence on this very thread.
This is a ch__ch. What's missing?

And there's glaring evidence of their presence on this very thread. It goes beyond that.
In his first campaign for Governor GWB indicated on a written questionnaire that Jews (perhaps non-Christians) dont go the heaven. Stupid, baiting, question.
When asked about his response by a reporter, he answered that he was running for Governor, and that the Governor of Texas doesnt make those decisions, God does.
A perfectly appropriate answer.
Rather than sitting on their hands, I perceive an element of hostility, even hatred in many replacement theology advocates. I cant imagine thats a true reflection of their faith. Or where it comes from.

Yes, when we were in ancient Egypt with Joseph's leadership we blessed Egypt mightily. After Joseph had died Paro thanked us by hating us and by turning us into slaves to cover for his own inadequacies as a human being.
R. Lapin continues the tradition that religious Jews have had in helping to lift up the world out of its ignorance and visceral, unjustified hatred that has been passed down from Kayin (Cain) which manifests itself today on this website as anti-Semitism.
Will FR do the right thing and zot the anti-Semitic elements we have seen today expressing their ignorance and hatred? Let's wait and see.

"The more he says that 'you people are destroying this country,' you know, some people are going to begin to get fed up with this and say, 'Well, all right then. If that's the way you feel, then we just won't support Israel anymore.' " I really don't believe that TRUE Christians are EVER going to turn their backs on the Jews. No matter what. We, who have read the Bible, know and understand what our relationship to the Jews is. After all, Jesus and all of his disciples were Jews. To turn away from the Jews, would be to turn away from Jesus and the Prophets of old. I just ignore the Christian haters. It doesn't bother me.

"Secular organizations and individuals have absolutely no business claiming to speak for the organized Jewish community when G-d A-mighty has established an official leadership for that community: the Orthodox rabbinate."
But the world sees us as one people regardless of whether we walk the path of Torah or the Communist Manifesto. There is much teaching by the rabbis about the oneness of the Jewish people even when on the surface there is much division. When Messiah comes Jews will be unified body and soul that will be obvious to all the nations. Until that time the religious have to still treat Shumer et al of that persuasion as part of the Jewish family. We can't hold their beliefs against them because we desire so badly for them to come back to Torah.
We grieve when we see the Socialist Jewish organizations do and say things that will only end up creating more anti-Semitism and hatred toward us. Because when the anti-Semitism gains a certain critical mass all Jews will suffer not just the religious ones. It's happened in the distant past as well as in modern times.
In the Book of Esther Mordechai tells Esther that she will suffer the same fate of death eventually even though she might be the queen of the nation and hiding her jewish identity.

But there are Christians out there that are not as educated as you about the issues we face. How many do you think are out there like you within the Christian community nationally? How many Christians know that Jesus was a Jew, spoke Hebrew (and Aramaic), drank wine, and did not speak King James English?
Most Christians are ignorant of their roots.
In Nazi Germany many Christians disagreed with Hitler about the treatment of Jews. Hitler took them to the gas chambers, too if they we discovered to be sympathizers of Jews.

Is your attitude displaying a lack of understanding towards churchillbuff. Surely anyone with knowledge of fundamental Christianity knows that we believe that Christ is the Messiah and also that none get to heaven except through belief in Him as God's only begotten Son and the atoning work He did for us on the cross. This is fundamental to Bible based Christianity. It does not matter whether you are Jew, Lutheran, Catholic, Budist, Hindu, agnostic, atheist or what you are, if you are not saved through the atoning sacrifice of Christ a Christian believes that you are lost and on your way to hell. One does not hate the lost but strives to pray for them and by the grace of God help them understand their position so that they might also be saved. One also does not think oneself better than the lost because one knows that all have sinned and come short of the glory of God and that in ourselves, apart from the atoning work of Christ, we also deserve to go to hell. We are saved by the free gift of salvation through Christ our LORD. This I believe is the place that churchillbuff seems to be coming from, he is merely being honest. May I ask you, as a Jew (presuming you are Jew, as I am not sure) do you believe that all roads lead to God?
I am not sure if churchillbuff believes in replacement theology which is wrong. RT believes that the Church has replaced the Jews as God's chosen people. I believe that to be wrong. God has not forsaken his people, the Jews, but will gather them and save them at the end which is most likely very soon.

Rabbi Lapin is more solid biblically than most CINOs in liberal mainline CINO denominations. He and other Orthodox Jews are much closer in many ways and have more in common with conservative Christians than liberals in various CINO denominations. Give me Rabbi Lapin over "father" Andrew Greely, "bishop" John Shelby Spong, or "sister" Joan Chittister any day of the week!

Alfred Lilienthal is an Israel-bashing, PLO-supporting, self-hating maniac with decades of crusasing against Israel. The article you have referenced is just another attempt to smear Israel by associating it with the ADL. It seems to me that today's ADL is friendlier to Arabs and moslems than it is to Pat Robertson, so I don't see what purpose this link of yours is supposed to serve.
You didn't read my posts 11 and 27. I suggest you read them.
