(SAN DIEGO) Republican Congressional Candidate, Howard Kaloogian (website: www.KaloogianForCongress.com) has demonstrated the growing strength of his campaign, collecting more than $170,000 in total contributions as of the filing deadline for the Year End 2005 election cycle.
Kaloogian, who is running in the 50th Congressional District to replace former Congressman Duke Cunningham, raised over $142,000 of that money in the final three months of the year with the lions share of that raised in December 2005 when fundraising exploded.
Our campaign fundraising has been taking off as Ive gained support from conservative and Republican leaders in San Diego and throughout the nation as people get frustrated with the politics as usual mentality that has become the rule in Washington, said Kaloogian.
In the past three months over 100 prominent conservative and Republican organizations and leaders from around the nation have come forward to announce their support for Kaloogians campaign. More than 1,100 individuals have made a financial contribution to Kaloogians campaign as of the end-of-the-year report, so the campaign now enjoys over $150,000 cash-on-hand.
I am excited about the huge momentum we have built in our campaign to take on and defeat the liberal Democrat candidate for this congressional seat. Im also proud to be funding our campaign with contributions from individual citizens who support my conservative agenda and desire to make changes in Washington. This is in contrast to some campaigns that can only be self-funded in what seems to be an attempt to purchase a congressional seat, said Kaloogian.

What is wrong with Howard?
Seriously.
He's a conservative, right?
That seems to be a death sentence imposed by many here on conservative candidates, on a conservative forum, no less, which makes me wonder what some folks true agenda here is.
It sure ain't supporting conservatives for office, imo..
Kind of makes ya wonder what folks like that are doing here, trying to hijack a board or toss disinformation around without being called on it.
I see. Please quote where I raised this issue, prior to you calling me names. What post # was it....please? Which post?
"He's a conservative, right?"
I wouldn't know; he hasn't actually DONE anything that I can think of to warrant a label. He TALKS a lot, but a lot of people talk.
Ah, my mistake. You just pal around with carpetbaggers who piously grumble about carpet-bagging.
From what I've seen, I don't like any of the candidates.
Actually Howard was a strong and early supporter of term limits and a lot of the conservative leaders who support him now came to start working with him back then - including Jim Martin of Sixty Plus.
Since he is cited as one of the inspirations for portable retirement accounts and Social Security overhaul you could say he's done nothing (you can read Steve Forbes "Fact and Comment" article about this at Kaloogian's website - I think it's back from 1996).
If you think serving on the Reagan Legacy Project and helping to secure recognition for Reagan isn't honorable, you could say he's done nothing.
If you think launching and leading the history-making Recall Gray Davis Committee isn't anything then you could say he's done nothing.
If you think that launching and leading the Defend Reagan Committee (which knocked down CBS' anti-Reagan miniseries and worked with the U.S. Postal Service on the Reagan stamp commemoration events) wasn't anything then you could say he's done nothing.
If you think launching and leading - along with Melanie Morgan - the largest pro-troops grassroots organization in the country, Move America Forward (and sending over 10+ tons of coffee and cookies and notes to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan), isn't anything then you could say he's done nothing.
If you think leading the charge against illegal immigration and rallying Californian's to pressure the state GOP to not cave on their promise to rescind drivers' licenses for illegal aliens (and earning the support of Tom Tancredo in the process) isn't anything then you could say he's done nothing.
I could keep going, but you seem a bit too cynical, such that it might just be a waste of my time (??)

You talk a lot too, so you're a peer of his by that logic.
Too bad you find it necessary to besmirch a man you haven't even done much if any research on at all.
You have heard of Move America Forward, I trust? He was a co-founder.
"You talk a lot too, so you're a peer of his by that logic."
I'm not the professional office-holder seeking a higher elective office.
"You have heard of Move America Forward, I trust? He was a co-founder."
OK, so he founded a group that engages in a bunch of talk.
Just color me unimpressed with any of the candidates, that's all.
"Actually Howard was a strong and early supporter of term limits and a lot of the conservative leaders who support him now came to start working with him back then - including Jim Martin of Sixty Plus."
If he wins the election, I predict a sudden and profound change in his philosophy on term limits. But that's my extremely cynical side showing.

No, I'll color you with of no import when he posts on FR.
Loser.
No, make that TRoll. It fits after that comment. It shows how little you know about much of anything.
"What the HELL are you talking about?????? Are you typing this form inside an asylum????"
What word did you not understand?
What is all this talk about me trying to have you killed? Are you off your rocker? Knock it off. It's not funny.
No. I didn't.
Knock it off!
