Yes, that's the thing - I don't want any President with that kind of power. When Clinton did it, that FISA court didn't exist yet. Now it does, and it's basically a rubber stamp type of court. In all of 2004, no request was rejected. The warrant was issued by FISA every single time they asked. So why didn't Bush go to the FISA court? This has me very confused. He could have easily stayed well within the boundaries and avoided all this trouble just by going to FISA. And he could have even gone to them *after the fact* if it was an emergency! Somethings rotten with this one. It does not bode well for us.
