They're public in that they don't require tuition, and I guess you would say 'private' because they're not the regular large public schools.
I think the key difference is that the teachers want results. There aren't a whole lot of public schools where that's true.
Fortunately, there are SOME...........and my kids went to one of them.

Good articles! I strongly recommend the one by Dennis Prager. He really spells out what the Left stand for in terms that we can use when talking to folks who are newly interested in politics.
Of course, since equality in everything is impossible, Dems are forever excusing poor outcomes of their policies and initiatives by saying that their motives and vision were 'good.'

Would you say then similar to our grammar or technical schools which you have to pass an entrance exam for and really are based at the top 5 - 10% academically then?

There's a possibility in the future that elder son and wife will move to DC.
I'll be coming to visit as often as I can, so maybe we can arrange a visit with you!

I don't think there are supposed to be academic requirements to get into a charter school.........so in that regard, they would be different.
They are quite new, and hard to pin down with a definition.......at least for me.
I have taught in private schools and public schools, as well as at the University level, but never in a charter school.
We should ask Jenna. :)

That Guy is weird looking...looks like the class nerd. Guess you've never spent time overseas in a business climate. What do you expect? Some fat, unwashed, tattooed, pierced, dope smoking unshaven biker from LA?
Maybe you'd be happier if he weighed 300 pounds, had a McDonald's Big Mac box full of the creme sauce dripping his pant leg.
I've worked with dozens of European Managing Directors for Texaco, Seagrams, Wyeth-Ayerst, Glaxo Smith-Kline Beecham. They were all gracious and NOT FAT.
Further, most spoke more than four languages, including English.
Every worked in Lucerne Switzerland?
American people who have never traveled have no clue as to how we look like myopic, moronic idiots.
