Interestingly, currently I'm listening to Antonin Dvorak's "New World Symphony", of which some of its musical passages are based on Dvorak' impressions of hearing gospel sung by workers in the fields of the (then) largely agrarian South ... (if you know what I mean) ...
A beautiful symphony, very pretty ... brings tears to my eyes every time I listen to it ;)
