Each hour on the DVD is only about 45 minutes without the real time commercials.Seems to me that if you're going to go to the trouble to seam together a DVD comprising an entire season's worth of a real-time drama, the "Previously...on 24", should be omitted.

Yeah, it does seem that they could do away with the summaries. I guess they consider the summaries as part of the package, and they are useful when you have to eventually go to sleep and pick up where you left off the next day;)
