As a picker who has studied many styles, and played country, jazz, pop, rock, bluegrass, folk and whatever else they'd pay me for, I can agree about the amazing ability of Chet Atkins. I was lucky enough to meet Chet, and spend an afternoon with him once. We were just pickin' when he called in and introduced to us a young man who HE said was the best......Jerry Reed. Couldn't argue with him.....Reed was incredibly creative.
I love old bluegrass("Awful Dreadful Snake",ie)and Jerry reed-am I thinking of the right guy? The guy who sang "When You're Hot You're Hot" and "East Bound And Down"?
