I am referring to an intelligence that created the universe and man.
But atheists lack belief in all possible deities, not just ones that happen to be universe and human creators.
I am not referring to pagan Gods, manicheanism, or even pantheism.
So why single out atheists as having this kind of "faith" when it easily applies to far more than them?
It takes great faith to believe that life occurred simply by chance, and that the complexity of life and the universe in general, is not indicative of an intelligent creator.
Why? Why can't I simply say that I haven't the information required to make an informed choice? Is it a statement of faith to acknowledge that my understanding of the universe is so limited that I cannot reasonably make a claim that life occuring without intelligent intervention is impossible?

First, you can do whatever you darn well please. Second, your statment indicates you are an agnostic not an Atheist. An Atheist believes there is no God.
BTW, you do have enough information to make an informed choice. Read Richard Dawkins in support of Atheism and read G.K. Chesterton and C.S. Lewis in support of Theism and Christianity.
Make a choice...don't be a wimpy agnostic!
