As I recall actions like this by the Mexican Government was a pre-cursor to the first Mexican/American War...gangsters and all.

Honestly, we can build a fence, gun turrets, mines and all...but that wont solve the problem. The real problem lies in Mexico City. If the Mexican government doesnt clean up its corruption we'll always have a problem.

We have the Mexican military crossing over onto our soil, attacking our border patrols to protect drug shipments? Our problems with Mexico are far worse than illegal immigration.

That statement nails it. The Mexican government is using the US as a safety valve to get rid of all of the malcontents that would otherwise be turned by the Communist organizer. And the bonus is the money that the illegals send back as protection money for their loved ones left behind in Mexico.
