Well, it's a town of 25K so not as many people read those letters, so it's no great feat. We left CT almost 8 years ago and are so happy to be in SC in a conservative town.
That made it all the more distressing to see a conservative paper come out against the wiretaps. They went even further and started talking the "imperial presidency" crap.

And sadly, it'll take the deaths of thousands, maybe millions of Americans before they might see the light...

There is nothing Constitutional about Clinton's record.

This is a bad week. If the Barrett (sp?) report disappoints, I'll be truly ticked off.

Don't forget the anticipated, arduous, and costly Barrett Report that is to be released on Jan 19th. This report legitimately implicates the Clinton Administration with internal abuses and illegal spying on the American people. Informing the public is just another page 23 headline which will not be revealed by the mainstream media. Unfortunately, these damaging pages will never be made public thanks to a few select (so-called) Republicans that slipped it into a bill recently.

I called in on Saturday and reminded him about the Barrett Report :0)

I thought there was a thread today that the report was coming out Thursday, although 100 pages have been redacted.

Although President Clinton has expressed support for an "expansive" view of the Constitution and the Bill of Rights, he has actually weakened a number of fundamental guarantees, including those of free speech and the right to trial by jury and that against double jeopardy. He has also supported retroactive taxes, gun control, and warrantless searches and seizures. The president's legal team is constantly pushing for judicial rulings that will sanction expansions of federal power. The Clinton White House has, for example, supported the federalization of health care, crime fighting, environmental protection, and education. Clinton also claims constitutional authority to order military attacks against other countries whenever he deems it appropriate. President Clinton's record is, in a word, deplorable. If constitutional report cards were handed out to presidents, he would receive an F. This paragraph, in essence, describes the whole of the Clinton Administration. Complete and absolute contempt for the Constitution, the law and the people of the United States.
