For years the NPS had paid government employees of the NPS work Kings' home in Atlanta and took care of the house and housekeeping. Ironic that all NPS employees all over the US have to wear their NPS uniforms except for MLK's house. Why? Because Coretta Scott King said the uniforms were a painful reminder of the oppressive government.
I resent my tax monies supporting King's wife and offspring to the tune of $Millions. It was a dirty little secret of the budget of the NPS for years about how much money was dumped into the King estate and now no one gives a tinker's about the misuse of the tax money.

Anyone old enough to remember before he was shot?
Didn't Bobby Kennedy tape his phone because the government thought he was a subversive?

I am sure that if the flyover had been MIGs the crowd would have been a lot happier considering MLK's affiliation with that crowd.

<obviously its not a march honoring MLK, since some of the
crowd wanted to use it is a way of protesting Bush. Are they
gonna ever use the parade as a way to protest gang violence?
More blacks have died from gang violence than in Iraq for
sure.
Also, notice how the opening line said "Crowds", not "some
of the crowd", not "some protestors",,,so you get the
picture of lots of people almost all of them protesting...
Probably just about 100 "dufie"(plural of dufus) who still
think communism needed a little more time for it to work..

What they fail to understand is that the military has given many blacks the opportunity to reach their dreams.
It is the closest thing we have to a complete color blind society-and it is a meritocracy that recognizes performance-not race.
Their agenda driven lunacy is sickening

Proving once again that idiocy is as idiocy does.
These people are idiots and need to turn off their boomboxes and rap sometimes - even if it's just to listen to the wind whistling through their empty heads..

Probably. San Antonio's the 8th largest city in the US, so I'd guess that their parade is one of the 10 largest.

Protesters attempted to release two white doves to symbolize peace, but with scattered rain in the area, the doves declined to fly and had to be put back into their cages.<<
Ironically...LMAO...there seems to be much more symbolism in this then the prostesters could fathom.. ...

You are exactly right. The US military is the embodiment of equal opportunity. It has been so for many decades, probably moreso beginning in the 1970s. It's the one place where individuals can excel based on job performance, not quotas. The thing I liked most about the service is that I had the chance to work with people from all fifty states and some other countries. You don't work with the same old people from your small town, but a diverse group of Americans. We all learn from each other.
