I can't remember who said it (it might have been Caesar for all I can remember): "Let them hate, so long as they fear".

Might be a little outdated, but yet some in the Islamic world still think and act like it's 1506 instead of 2006....

It was Lucius Accius, a roman poet, the quote was later on used by the Emperor Caligula.

I also use the quote (in original latin) as my tagline.
