It depends when he signed the rights over to Spielburg. A few years ago even though I knew Spielburg leaned left I wouldn't have expected this sort of garbage from him. Kushner didn't come on board til late. They interviewed him on NPR a couple of weeks ago and he turned down doing the script the first time he was asked. I just hope the auther got a good paycheck from Spielburg since this movie is going to eventually end out in the septic tank of history.

If you read the post carefully you might discover that he did not "sign up" with these distortionists (e.g.Spielberg and company). The rights to make a movie based on his book had already been sold years ago. Once sold, the author really gives up control for it is property he no longer owns. They simply bought the rights to make a movie from the parties who owned that right. Note, the author of the book did not even know who owned the rights because it had changed hands a number of times. It took an investigation to discover who owned the rights to make the film.

As a courtesy [read damage control] they kept the author of Vengence "in the loop" so that he would not disrupt the public relations and marketing efforts. Note they did not allow him to read the script nor to be anywhere near the production.
