Are we still in an era where we believe if your gay then you have AIDS?

From 1981 through 1999, there were 751,965 cumulative reported cases of AIDS in the U.S. At least 56 percent of the AIDS diagnoses occurred in gay or bisexual men. In other words, two percent of the population had at least 56 percent of those reported AIDS diagnoses. The second largest group was IV drug users. What about heterosexual sex? It is not illogical to extrapolate (at least partially) this pattern to the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Africa. In deed, the facts tend support this extrapolation with the exception that the heterosexual spread of the disease in greater due to more promiscuous, bi-sexual behavior fostered by cultural norms of certain populations segments.

By now I would think way more heterosexual people have HIV than gays.

Cite some statistics to back your supposition.

Let’s examine some logic in light of known facts:

Those engaging in high risk activities such as homosexual activities are, proportionally, the largest segment of the population having contracted the deadly disease, HIV/AIDS.

Those wishing to avoid exposure to the deadly disease, HIV/AIDS, voluntarily abstain from the high risk activities that most often propagate the disease.

Therefore, it incongruent to force those who wish to avoid deadly disease, HIV/AIDS, and have avoided high risk behavior to do so, to involuntarily increase their risk to the disease by being exposed to transfusions intentionally contaminated by infected donors.
