No, I don't. I do not believe that the women are coming from out of state to get an abortion. I do believe the come from out of town because it will remain more anonymous. That isn't because it is harder to get one in smaller towns, it is because someone may find out about it easier in a small town. That is much different reason than not being able to get one because of the laws making it difficult. And very different from trying to scare unimformed readers of what may happen if Alito is confirmed.
In 1973, I was 3, and by reading your posts we don't really have anything in common.
I remember this was the way it was pre-Roe. Women did say they were going with friends to the city (NYC) for sight-seeing or whatever when the real reason was to get an abortion. They also knew this would ensure their anonymity. And the airlines obliged by actually promoting what everyone knew were "abortion flights" with special rates for quick trips to the city.
Then it was for lack of abortion clinics in some states, but there was a lot of these other reasons involved. Also women seemed to think that "what happened in NYC, stayed in NYC."
Anyway, none of this changes the fact that these statistics are appalling.
