Studies have shown that kids who go to preschool perform better when go to kindergarten, saying that, though, I do not feel that we should tax the wealthy create this program.
Kimchi
To Kimchi,
Please don't send you child to government kindergarten.
Will you, please, please, please investigate homeschooling?
I promise you that it is the most natural and healthy way to raise up a confident and well educated adult. And,,,please don't fret over "socialization". There is plenty of opportunity for you child to have friends of all ages.
The socialization learned in institutional schools is TOXIC. Most of it must be unlearned to be successful in work and marriage, and with family, friends, and neighbors.

My son goes to a CHRISTIAN preschool and I couldn't be happier.
Not everyone has the temperment to homeschool. I know my limitations. I know that my son would NOT be happy staying home with me all day while all his friends were at school. Give the kid a break! I know my limitations. Besides, I know many fine people who went to public school.

Studies have shown that kids who go to preschool perform better when go to kindergarten, Babs Streisand.
That is true if the alternative is outside in a hot parked car while Mama is in the crackhouse, but if a 3-4 year-old gets to hang with Mom all day and during that day "helps" her with everything in her life, counting apples at the store, picking out colors, picnicking in the park, meeting people, listening to stories, even watching good kiddie TV (there is some!), that child will do awesomely well in kindergarten and to boot will be less of a follower while still being respectful to adults. Kids who spend most of their day with loving parents (or grandparents!) TOP all other kids in all well-rounded ways.
